Property from South Florida Estates

We are pleased to offer for our second sale with iGavel. com - Property from various Florida Estates and Collections.

We will be having an exhibition of the property April 1st through April 3rd from 10 am till 4 pm at our gallery which is located at 901 South Tamiami Trail in Nokomis, Florida on U.S. 41 (see map) between Sarasota and Venice on Florida's West Coast at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Colonial Lane.

Elder's Antiques has the distinct pleasure of offering a wonderful large Chinese export Provinces charger that measures 19" in diameter, Ca. 1720. Also, offered from this collection are a number of lots of fine Japanese 19th Imari in the form of sets of dishes, cache pots and a lidded box. We are also pleased to offer two pieces of ancient Javanese stone sculpture and a Balinese terra-cotta guardian. Another estate offers large lots of Indian brass and bronze deities and objects collected over 50 years ago. One of the finest objects from this collection is a colored and lacquered lithograph that was included in a traveling exhibition and featured in the museum exhibition catalogue.

We also have two fine original documents printed on vellum signed by George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. A Society of Cincinnati document dated 1785 is one of the most sought after of all Washington documents.

A fine George III chest on chest starts off our furniture offering. The pine 19th century sideboard came from a Nantucket family.

Of particular note is the important collection of American Indian photos taken by the Indian agent Harmon Percy Marble. Many of the images are rare images of Indian ceremonies rarely ever photographed. Their are 117 photographs in this collection and they are being sold as one lot. Along these same lines is a fine Transitional Navaho Rug of a large size and in beautiful condition. Also a well decorated Hopi pot.

A painting by Herman Fuschel gives a captivating view of the busy 19th century Hudson River and West Point. A 18th/19th century Italian watercolor of the coliseum takes quite awhile to digest as the painting is dotted with figures in a multitude of different rites and ceremonies.
