Elder's Antiques is pleased to present a wonderful collection of fine antiques for their inaugural sale on iGavel.com. This sale features Picasso Ceramics, a group of oriental objects, and Period French Furniture.

David Colton originally purchased the groups of eleven Picasso ceramics in the 1950's while he was the attorney for the Henry Clewes Museum. They are offered from the estate of Roberta Sudicoff, his sister-in-law.

Quite a nice group of antique Chinese jades are offered as de-accessioned property for the St. Petersburg Museum of art. This group offers wonderful examples from the 18th and 19th centuries. Also, some Chinese, Japanese, and Korean ceramics and porcelains from all periods.

A consignment of 176 pieces of Minton porcelain with an elegant centerpiece is one of the items in the ceramics category. This set dates circa. 1893. There are also many lots of Royal Copenhangen, Royal Daulton, and Meissen.

And, finally, numerous period French pieces from the estate of the late Jacques Michel will be offered. Michel was an avid antique collector, dealer, and Sotheby's associate. Born in France, Michel moved to Denver, Colorado, where he was a well-known and well-respected antique dealer before moving to Naples in 1995. Michel's expertise in Continental antiques is evident in the fine lots offered. He also had a passion for Art Nouveau. While living in Nancy he purchased the impressive Majorelle wardrobe. Other property includes Louis XV and XVI chairs, and a large group of sterling by Emille Jean Puiforcat.

From another Naples estate comes a collection of period English and American furniture and decorative arts. The collection also features the fine Paul Storr egg holder and other lots of silver. A painting by Marcel Dyf was purchased from the artist while on a world tour. This collector also spent some time in the Middle East and purchased a number of fine illuminated manuscript pages.

All together this is a good, well-rounded group of distinctive property to begin our sales on iGavel.com
