Chippendale Maple Slant-lid Desk, Probably New Hampshire, Second Half 18th C., divided and stepped interior with scooped stacking short drawers, pendant drop and short cabriole legs ending in tall pad feet. (AROT858)

NOTE: This desk bears similarities to one in the collection of The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village and illustrated in 'The Decorative Arts of New Hampshire 1725-1825' (The Currier Gallery, 1964) p. 28, no. 24.

Condition
Lid previously fitted with batwing brass pulls, now patched. Drawer pulls possibly replaced. Patch repair to drawer; small molding patches and repairs. One drawer runner loose. Minor splits and separations throughout, with a few small areas of infill and in-coloring. Small old chip loss to edge of proper right rear leg. Sides and bottoms of interior short drawers stained.
