Assembled Group of Four Victorian or Empire Mahogany Side Chairs, American or English, 19th C., one Empire with shaped crest, applied boss ornament and carved knees; other three with rose-carved pierced crest, carved medial stretcher and slip seats; all with serpentine-shaped front seat rails and all in a blue and white diamond-pattern wool upholstery. (4 pc.) (ABEL867/4)

Measurements
Empire chair: 32 1/2" OH x 17 1/2" w x 17 1/2" D; seat 17" H; Victorian chairs: 34" OH x 18" W x 16" D

Condition
Both with splits and separations throughout and veneer breaks and losses. Empire chair with some splitting to seat rail veneers adjacent to front legs. Two carved chairs with breaks and repairs to back, primarily at joint between crest and stiles Some glue blocks replaced. Upholstery with minor wear, if slightly faded.
