Suicide Forest lies at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The forest, which has a historic association with demons in Japanese mythology, is a popular place for sucides in 2002, 80 bodies were removed from the area despite signs asking people to reconsider their actions.

Simon Vahala was born in 1978 in Prague, Czech Republic. He graduated in 2009 with a MFA in Intermedial school of prof. Milan Knizak (Fluxus) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. In his broad-spectrum work, he as an artist brilliantly replies to the intermedia demands of present times. He exploits specifics of individual media (painting, photography, objects, performances). He has been exhibited and published internationally, including shows at National Gallery in Prague, The Phillips de Pury & Company in London, Cairo state Opera in Egypt, etc. Recently featured in Humble Arts Foundation’s The Collector’s Guide To Emerging Art Photography.
